Cllr Pratt had submitted a written report which had been circulated amongst councillors. Relevant information to be placed on the Facebook site and the councils website.

44/23.1 To examine applications for development and submit observations to the Planning Authority

7/2023/4058 Fisherground Campsite, Eskdale
The addition of 7no. temporary camping pods on the existing campsite

7/2023/4007 Fisherground Lodges, Eskdale
The conversion and change of use of redundant agricultural shed into 3 tourist accommodation units, the siting of an additional freestanding lodge, addition of new external cladding and roof finishes to the redundant shed. Associated changes to the site for car parking and landscaping

The council were unable to comment on the request until they had sight of the full planning application.

46/23 Parish Matters

46/23.1 Defib – Eskdale Green
Defib received and to be fitted on 15 September 2023

46/23.2 Hard Knott Telephone Box
Now been stripped in preparation of repairs. Lengthsman to be approached to paint once repairs undertaken.

46/23.3 Eskdale Trail
A response had been received from Cllr Pratt and LDNP re the lack of consultation. Cllr Hunt reported that the sign to Doctors Bridge appears to be incorrect stating ½ mile when the distance is a mile.
Councillors requested that any works/improvements within Eskdale to be informed of prior to the event.

46/23.4 Lengthsman review
Councillors are happy with the works undertaken and it has been noted that the valley is looking much improved.

46/23.5 Community Plan
Suggested date of zoom meeting with Act 10 October 2023

Council have been notified on 2024 date – 12 May.

1 vacancy to be filled. To be promoted at the Eskdale Show

  • Cllr Harrington reported that the poor road markings at the junction of the King George/Bower House have still not been resolved. Clerk to report again
  • Cllr Harrington raised the placing of the Fallen Soldier sign in preparation for Armistice Day.
