85/23 Police Liaison Report
A report had been previously circulated by the Clerk. Concerns were raised that there was no allocated PCSO contact for Eskdale. Clerk to contact for name

86/23 Progress Reports

86/23.1 Clerks Report
The Clerk reported that she had contacted the school re speed posters and received a positive response.
The Lengthsman had planted the trees and been informed re the wildflowers.
Confirmation had been received that the gritters would now go through the village and turn around at the King George. To be reported if not undertaken.
Contacted CALC/NALC re concerns of digital phone rollout
Tried to access Eskdale Facebook page but not successful.

89/23 Applications for Development

89/23.1 To examine applications for development and submit observations to the Planning Authority
T/2024/0035 Outwood Bound Trust, Eskdale Green,
Fell 1x Fir tree adjacent to Tarn House approach drive which is uprooting and at risk of catastrophic failure. This is restricting access to the property.

Proposed by Cllr Hunt, Seconded by Cllr Harrington and resolved that a donation of £100 be presented to the committee of St Bega’s Village Hall.

91/23 Parish Matters

91/23.1 Hard Knott Telephone Box
Cllr Kirkby in consultation with head ranger Western Lakes re possible usage. Cllr Harrington to put up on Facebook details of refurb and requesting ideas for use.

91/23.2 Community Plan
Some questionnaires received back. Clerk to email original questionnaire out to councillors. Cllr Harrington to put the form up on Facebook

91/23.3 Co-option of Councillors
There are now 2 vacancies. To be advertised.

Lengthsman planted trees.

91/23.5 Review of Emergency Plan
Reviewed minor changes to contact details required

91/23.6 Annual Parish Meeting
To be held 14 May 2024 commencing 7pm

92/23 To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies
Village Hall Committee – Cllr Shaftesley reported that change of ownership is still ongoing. A new Charitable Trust is being set up. The hall is beginning to be used more.

To discuss any correspondence received for open discussion

94/23 Councillor Matters

• Cllr Kirkby reported another 2 near misses at the King George junction due to no white lines. Clerk to report
• Cllr Harrington reported that the Remembrance Day Lady is missing. To be put up on Facebook.
• Request that Cllr Pratt be contacted as to the result of the 30mph speed limit proposal
• Cllr Harrington stated she had been approached by the vicar re the school at Boot. Awaiting contact to clerk
