Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting

APM 13th May 2025

Held on Tuesday 13th May 2025 commencing 07.00 pm at St Bega’s Village Hall, Eskdale Green

Present: Cllr R Brown Chair and 3 members of the public

Apologies: 3 electors had submitted their apologies

PM1/25: Election of Clerk
Mrs L Cooper was elected as Clerk

PM2/25: Minutes of the Meeting held 14 May 2024
The Clerk had distributed the minutes of the last meeting which were approved and signed by the Chair

PM3/25: Chairman’s Report

The Chair gave an overview of the Parish Council activities over the last 12 months. There had been a number of positive achievements, welcomed a new councillor Alison Rutherford. Like to thank all councillors for their hard work. There is still one vacancy to fill. The balance of councillors a good mixture of experience and new and would hope that someone will come forward to fill the vacancy.

The new oak trees have been planted and growing well.

The new 30mph speed limit has finally been installed after putting pressure on Cumberland Highways.

The gritter has been seen on multiple times during the winter and there is still room for improvement.

The Community Plan has been launched and we would encourage everyone in the household to complete one,

I would like to thank the Lengthsman for keeping the valley clear of weeds and it is looking better.

The War memorial will receive some restoration this summer.

I’d like to thank the Clerk for all her hard work and keeping track of the finances.

Questionnaire’s will be available at the Art Festival and one will be posted to every property, as well as available on Facebook and the Parish Council’s Website
