The Minutes of the meeting of the meeting held on 12 November 2024 were approved and signed by the Chair. Proposed Cllr Hunt, Seconded Cllr Kirkby.

Council to object as on previous application.

It was noted that Fairfield had been used as a party house over Christmas period and is still being advertised. Clerk to report to LDNP Planning as a breach of Appeal decision.

75/24.2 To ratify the observations submitted by the Clerk under devolved powers since last meeting.

77/24 Parish Matters

77/24.1 Hard Knott Telephone Box
Spare parts ordered and to be fitted by Lengthsman. No further progress on its use. Suggestion that could display school art work.

77/24.2 Community Plan
Clerk to pursue with ACT. Suggested that next survey is done via post.

77/24.4 Environment

77/24.5 War memorial – repainting of letters/names
A quotation has been received and approved. Works to be undertaken when weather improves.

77/24.6 Ward review
Current ward too large, ward councillor does not have time to visit all councils.

78/24 To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies
Village Hall – Cllr Shaftesley reported that the next meeting is in February

79/24 Correspondence
To discuss any correspondence received for open discussion

  • Notification had been received that the Fred Whitton Challenge is on 11 May 2025. Clerk to respond.
  • Letter from Cumbria Community Foundation requesting a donation. Clerk to respond with a negative.

80/24 Councillor Matters

  • Cllr Kirkby asks when the new speed limit signs will be going up. Clerk to contact Highways.
  • Cllr Postlethwaite is requesting a salt bin at Boot Village.
  • Cllr Shaftesley reported that the Gritting lorry is not going down to the King George as agreed.
  • Japanese Garden to be placed on next agenda.

There being no other business the meeting closed at 2035 hours.
