HELD ON TUESDAY 12 JULY 2022 AT St BEGA’S VILLAGE HALL, ESKDALE GREEN COMMENCING AT 7.30PM

24/22 To Approve the Minutes of the meetings held on 10 May 2022
The Minutes of the meeting of the meeting held on 10 May 2022 were approved and signed by the Chair

A report had been previously circulated by the Clerk

26/22.1 Giggle Alley
A bat survey to be undertaken before works can commence

26/22.2 Telephone Box – Hard Knott
Clerk to ascertain cost of replacement parts especially replacement of broken spars. Application for funding to Eskfest.
No response received from Wasdale Mountain Rescue – Cllr Brown to chase
Options available for locating a defib in the phone box. To apply to GDF for funding

27/22 Public Participation
None

28/22 County Councillor/District Councillor reports
District councillor had given a verbal report to Clerk
Recycling collections to change in October – small boxes to be replaced with 2 wheelie bins. Residents can still retain small boxes if they prefer

29/22 Applications for Development

29/22.1 To examine applications for development and submit observations to the Planning Authority
None

29/22.2 To ratify the observations submitted by the Clerk under devolved powers since last meeting.
None

29/22.3 To note the decisions of the statutory planning authority with regards to recent applications
7/2021/4077 Fisherground Campsite, Eskdale
Proposed siting of 7 Camping Pods within the approved boundaries of the site

31/22 Parish Matters

31/22.1 Eskdale Open/Telephone Box
Resolved to apply to Eskdale Open for funding to refurbish the telephone box and use as an Information Centre

31/22.2 Fred Whitton Challenge
Resolved to call a public meeting in November to discuss. Invite representatives from local business, surrounding Parishes and Fred Whitton challenge

31/22.3 FOLD Landscape grant fund community Garden – submit plan to Forestry commission/Community Garden
Wildflowers, native bulbs, poppies have been ordered for planting on banking above car park. Wild flower seeds for verges by Forge Bridge
Land opposite Outward Bound Centre possible location

31/22.4 Environmental projects/climate change
Cllr Carlin to seek views from residents via Facebook for ideas on how can change and environmental projects

31/22.5 GDF Project
Village hall applying for n=money for a feasibility study. Clerk to submit an application for repairs to telephone box and defib.

31/22.6 Hidden Gems
Cllr Carlin to put on Facebook for suggestions

31/22.7 Planters for Pollinators Scheme
Wildflower seeds purchased and will be scattered Forge Bridge

31/22.8 Defib – Eskdale Green
Cllr Harrington reported that the defib is not working. Out of Order Notice to be placed. Investigation shown that it requires replacing
Resolved to purchase a replacement. Gdf to be approached for funding

31/22.9 Eskdale Trail
Clerk to request meeting with Eric Barker

32/22 To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies
Village Hall – question as to ownership of building. Major issue parking. Suggestion of Heritage centre/cafe

To discuss any correspondence received for open discussion
