Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting

Held on Tuesday 16th May 2023

Commencing 07.00 pm at St Bega’s Village Hall, Eskdale Green

Present: 7 members of the public

Apologies: None

PM1/23: Election of Clerk

Mrs L Cooper was elected as Clerk.

PM2/23: Chairman’s Report

The Chair gave an overview of the Parish Council activities over the last 12 months. Flower bulbs and wildflower seeds had been planted around the Parish. Spare parts had been purchased to restore the Hard Knott phone box and the PC are seeking volunteers to help with the refurbishment. A new Defibrillator to be purchased for the toilets. A Lengthsman has been appointed for the village. The PC will continue to work with the new Authority and report issues. The light pollution on New Close is still ongoing but is being investigated.

I would like to thank the councillors for all their hard work and thank the Clerk for her continued support.

PM3/23: Parish Council Finance Report

The Clerk to the Parish Council gave a report of the Council’s finances. A copy of the report is attached to these minutes.

PM4/23: Open Discussion

Village Hall future – the committee are submitting a tender for a feasibility study and hope that the Parish Council will support them in ideas for income generation and solving the car park problem.

PM5/23: Date of Next Meeting

The next Annual Parish meeting to be arranged.
