“Originally from Cambridge, I moved to West Cumbria in 2013 and have lived in Eskdale with my husband John since 2014.
I currently work as an Infrastructure Planning Officer for Cumbria County Council. I support the development of the Allerdale and Copeland Local Plans and deliver projects such as the Copeland Transport Improvements Study, Cumbria Transport Infrastructure Plan and currently supporting the delivery of the Hadrian’s Wall Cycling and Walking Corridor and Cleator Moor and Millom Town Investment Plans.
I am a Chartered Town Planner and before joining Cumbria County Council I worked for Arup consultancy in Whitehaven, Copeland Borough Council, and other local planning authorities across community regeneration, development management and planning policy disciplines.
When I’m not doing the day job, I am walking the fells, gardening, jewellery making (Eskdale Beads), reading, writing (huge fan of Royal Mail), swimming, going to gigs, visiting family and slowly decorating the home. I am also a regular at the weekly Bower House quiz.
I have joined Eskdale Parish Council as I want to help make a difference in the community. I want to support Eskdale to continue to be a beautiful place to live, work and have fun. Protection of the natural landscape is really important to me. I believe my passion, experience and background will help to add value to the great work already achieved by the Parish Council.”
